Coachella 2012 will be held over 2 weekends

Coachella via their website (http://coachella.com) just announced that the 2012 version of the music festival will be held not on one weekend but on two consecutive weekends; featuring the same line-ups and same location. This decision has been made in reaction to all the ticket inquiry the event promoter received this year and in order to accommodate everyone they decided to have it over two weekends.

Coachella Weekend 1 – April 13-15, 2012
Coachella Weekend 2 – April 20-22, 2012

I am guessing this was the only way as they probably couldn’t increase the capacity of the event. I am not to sure on what to think about this, I kind of feel like this is ruining the whole concept of being one of the lucky pass holder of such a high demand festival and it ruins its legend a bit. The same way I disagree with festivals that go franchise and move from cities to cities. Its like if tomorrow, someone decided to bring back Woodstock but do a tour with dates across the globe, NO!

Tickets for Coachella 2012 will go on sale for one week starting this Friday, June 3rd, 2011, at 10am PST until the following Friday June 10th, 2011, at 10pm PST. And Coachella is introducing a payment plan that will allow people to pay a deposit of 10% and then have a 8 equal monthly payments. However,  the price of three-day passes remains at $269 plus fees for the sixth consecutive year. This new payment plan is I think a great idea and will allow financial access to the festival to more people.

Free Download: Daft Punk – High Life (Dan Castro’s ‘Bring Back The Funk’ Re-Edit)

Dan Castro started producing just over two years ago and has since attracted the attention of some of the World’s Biggest House artists including Laidback Luke, Axwell, Tiesto, David Guetta, Pete Tong (Radio 1 Support), Mark Knight, Roger Sanchez, Paul Van Dyk, Carl Cox, Riva Starr, Chuckie, MYNC, Wally Lopez, Dirty Vegas and many more. In part, the diversity of this support can be put down to the eclectic range of sounds that Dan produces. Not only sticking to one genre of house, Dan experiments and touches on everything from Sampled House to Big Room to Disco, Techno, Progressive or driving Tech House.

Dan Castro recently made a re-edit of Daft Punk‘s all time song ‘High Life‘, which is still hot after so many years. Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter are the guys behind the Daft Punk masks an they are a legendary french music duo! After Felix Leiter and eSQUIRE‘s edits, which got great support, Dan Castro decided to give his own edit for free as well. ‘High Life’ is from Daft Punk’s second studio album ‘Discovery‘ and it was released on 13th of March 2001. Enjoy!

Release: Fedde Le Grand – Metrum (Original) & (Manuel De La Mare Remix)

YouTube Preview Image

There is no denying that Fedde Le Grand has been on fire in 2011, with his prolific studio output resulting in 3 consecutive Beatport Number 1′s and by the looks of this next release on Toolroom, he’s not finished yet. With the official Beatport release of ‘Metrum‘ today, we are privileged enough to announce that along side of  ’Metrum‘ comes an amazing remix from another amazing producer known as Manuel De La Mare.

The remix is another example of quality production coming from both artist Fedde Le Grand and Manuel De La Mare. Manuel puts his own on Fedde’s track, rebuilding the percussion and emphasizing some elements that Manuel Le Del Mare is known for really gives it the De La Mare feel. This track is defiantly one for the late night/early morning hours and will take your crowed on a wild ride. Both track are out and available on Beatport now so go and get your own copy!
