Live Preview: AVICII – Levels (Skrillex Remix)

When it comes to superstar DJ/producer status there are a couple criteria to consider, here are two:

1) You have a few million fans on your social media, and the biggest top40 artists want to co-produce with you; the best example is David Guetta
2) Your productions are crossing DJ genre and are played by artists from very different background

It seems that AVICII – in less than 2 years – has reached that level (no word play here) where other producers such as Eric Prydz or The Swedish House Mafia took more than 10 years! His current worldwide hit “Levels” is played by literally every DJs on the planet and creates the same frenetic reaction of crowd signing along “la la la la la la…”!

Other example of the young swede success, Skrillex; one of the biggest electro/dubstep producer has decided to make his own remix of Levels to incorporate in his set. He is currently touring in the UK, and tested it a few nights ago – Here is a live preview, look at the crowd’s reaction; no doubt this is gonna extend the Levels Buzz for another couple month!

Preview: Otto Knows – Million Voices

Most of us have discovered Otto Knows through his amazing remix of “Hide and Seek” by Imogen Heap, one of the anthem of 2010, played by the biggest artist out there. But we also know that AVICII who is a friend of him, is also a big fan, mentioning Otto in interviews or inviting him in his 2nd iTunes podcast Le7els. During his set, Otto showcased his future release called “Million Voices” which already received a lot of positive feedback.

Last Saturday, Sebastian Ingrosso played in Toronto at the world famous club The Guvernment and during his set he played “Million Voices” – so this brings the question: We all know that Ingrosso has a particular eye in finding young talented producer (Alesso), the fact that he played Otto upcoming track – does it mean “Million Voices” is signed to his label; Refune or does it just support it. Time will tell until then, enjoy the preview ;)

Release: Avicii – Levels (Official Video)

The official music video to accompany this year’s anthem has finally landed, and… well truthfully I am slightly disappointed. While I do appreciate the attempt and while the patient is as infectious as the song, I do believe that this song deserved a better visual adaptation. Instead of opting for a Big Bad Wolf style video, an interpretation  of grander and epic proportions would have been more fitting to the song. I deem the edit of the series of YouTube videos made by fans to be a more appropriate creation. Anyway I will let you be the judge of that.

Release: Michael Woods – Last Day On Earth [Diffused]

Having featured in Music Weeks Top 40 songwriters for his success with Example, Michael Woods returns to business on his own label Diffused. He returns home in spectacular fashion with his dance floor-destroying ‘Last Day On Earth‘. Featuring the vocals of upcoming songwriter/vocalist Duvall, the track includes an epic breakdown with signature Woods arpegiators and synth riffs, all building into a mass of snare rolls, rising vocal samples and FX, not to mention the incredibly delivered vocal from Duvall that puts the icing on the cake, and when finally released into the hard hitting beats and rolling bass line the crowd will have already gone mental about 10 times! The package also includes an Instrumental mix for the tougher dance floors. Hope you all enjoy another great cut from Michael Woods, his label Diffused and J’adoreHouseMusic.com.
