Top 5 Rising Producers of 2012

About a month ago MTV released their “EDM Rookies to Watch in 2012” which brought a lot of controversy since the term “rookie” didn’t seem to fit with their selection and some of the artists in their list were already well known (DJMag Top100).

So we decided to bring you our own (and selfish) selection of the 5 artists we believe are going to take their career to the next level in 2012. Please understand that we didn’t consider; Tommy Trash, Madeon, Qulinez, Hard Rock Sofa, Deniz Koyu, Otto Knows, Matisse & Sadko, Gregori Klosman, Tim Mason etc. as they are all pretty established producers with many successful releases.

There is no order in this selection. We based our choices on the quality of their productions as well as the fan buzz around them, and the support they have gotten from recognized Artists.

Michael Calfan

Michael Calfan has been signed for a few years to Yellow Productions, the label of Bob Sinclar. But instead of pressuring him, they were smart, they let him prefect his beat and production skills in the studio. In 2011, after a few release with not so much attention from the fans suddenly, the young Michael came out with a great remix of Michael CanitrotWhen You Got Love” showcasing a very promising talent, followed by one of the year anthem with “Resurrection” supported massively by Axwell, which released his Recut Club version on is imprint Axtone. Now Michael has in the work a very special remix of David Guetta ft Nicki MinajTurn Me On“, he has announced he will be playing at Tomorrowland. With a “Playboy” face, a huge talent, excellent management and the support from some of the biggest EDM producers – 2012 will be Michael Calfan‘s year.

Ken Loi

Ken Loi is a young producer hailing from San Francisco. His year 2011 has revealed his promising talent with few remixes for some of the biggest producers,  his remix of Kaskade & Tiësto’s “Only You” breaking into Beatport Top 100. Immediately after, Tiesto impressed with Ken’s potential invited him to open for a few of his shows including the record breaking College Invasion Tour at Home Depot Center in Los Angeles. Since then, Ken Loi has been named Breakthrough DJ/Producer of 2011 by Tiesto himself and also signed with the same talent agency  which manage Tiesto. Everything seems to be set for Ken’s career to take off in 2012 with upcoming releases on Dim Mak and Big Beat Records.

Pierce Fulton

We have known Pierce’s for a while, essentially because his brother/manager “Griff” is a friend. But the ascension of this young producer from Vermont is very admirable. But in music like anything else, there is no surprise and Pierce is; talented, yes, but also he works hard, continuously, and it is now paying off. Since his EP “Pardon My french” featuring an hilarious preview video, his career has taken a sunny road with DJ gigs in Croatia during the Yacht Week, a signature with Complete Control Management (which also manage Tiesto, A-Track, Dada Life) and now touring across the US, even opening for Tiesto in Las Vegas a few days ago. We really can’t wait for Pierce next release!

FareOh

If you check us out often, you must know who Fareoh is. Since his remix of Calvin HarrisFlashback” supported by Calvin himself, we started watching closely this talented New York producer…and we never stopped. Since then, a brilliant remix of Winter Gordon Buy My Love“, an Epic set at Electric Zoo followed with a signature with William Morris Entertainment, one of the biggest talent agency on the planet. In 2012 we expect from Fareoh to showcase more of his raw production talent with original mixes, which he already did with a track entitled “2012” which has already been played/supported by some of the biggest Djs.

Paris & Simo

Paris & Simo have been regulars on our blog since the beginning but 2011 was really when their career seemed to have taken a new speed. In August they won the remix of TiestoWork Hard Play Hard” handpicked by the Dutch legend himself, followed with the release on Hardwell‘s Revelead Recordings of their original track “Monk” and a month ago a collaboration with Mark Mendes called “Aura“. We can expect these 2 talented producers from Montreal to explode on everyone tracklists with many productions on the work in 2012.
