Preview: Miike Snow – Devil’s Work (Dirty South Remix) [Sony]

YouTube Preview Image

With the upcoming release of Miike Snow’s new album, it appears to be that every EDM producer on earth will attempt to remix one of the band’s new songs, after Wolfgang Gartner and Alex Metric it is now Dirty South‘s turn to showcase his own vision on the greatly popular Devil’s Work. With hastened tempo and some added house beats, this remix, while not incredibly original, does offer an impressive alternative to the original. While no release date in store, this remix will be released on Sony hopefully soon.

Release: Dirty South & Thomas Gold – Eyes Wide Open (Remixes) [Phazing]

After mesmerizing the entire globe with their first collaboration, called Eyes Wide Open, Dirty South & Thomas Gold are now unveiling the two remixes coming from Felguk and Lenno. While trumping the original would be an unfathomable feat, these two talented artists do introduce an interesting take on the hit. While not a big fan of Felguk and his overly utilized wawa sounding synths, I do enjoy Lenno’s version that adds an interesting beat and rhythm. Anyway they are both available for purchase on Beatport.

Swedish House Mafia – Masquerade Motel Miami 2012 (March 23rd)

YouTube Preview Image

With the Winter Music Festival in Miami coming up in March, the Swedish House Mafia have decided again to not show case their talents at one of North America’s biggest festival. Rather then join the festivities; the trio of AxwellSebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello will again host their own party with their own selected line up. With a bold roster last year, which saw the likes of DJ/producers such as Pete Tong, Dirty South and A-Track, ensures us that this year will be just as big and just as stacked. With only Calvin Harris and the date of the party announced we await news from the Swedish House Mafia team, but for now download the trios DJ set from last years party and begin the anticipation.

Tracklist:

01. Axwell & Sebastian Ingrosso feat. Michael Feiner – Together (The Attic Intro Edit) [Axtone] w/ Bart B More, Nom de Strip & Little Bastard – Jailbait [Secure] w/ Swedish House Mafia feat. Tinie Tempah – Miami 2 Ibiza (Intro Edit) [Virgin]
02. Alesso – Nillionaire [Refune]
03. Matt Caseli & Danny Freakazoid – Raise Your Hands [Axtone] …Read More

News: Marquee 2012 DJ Residencies

Since a couple of years Las Vegas has set the goal of becoming the Ibiza of North America, attracting the biggest DJs, opening the biggest clubs with parties going 24/7, even transferring one of North America biggest festival (EDC) from Los Angeles.

Among all the clubs in Vice city, XS nightclub and Marquee Nightclub are dominating the market, signing exclusivity with some of the biggest EDM producers.

Marquee just announced today they signed Above & Beyond, ATB, Benny Benassi, Chuckie, Dirty South, Erick Morillo, Kaskade, Markus Schulz and Redfoo for exclusive residencies in 2012.

With the rise of EDM in the music and nightlife industry – does this mean more and more DJs will sign residencies with clubs, slowly decreasing the role of event promoters?
